To be more exact, you give away good quality information (like I am doing now) and then you let other people - people who are really good at it - do the selling, and you take a percentage.

Here's how it works: on page 5 you will find a short article by a man called Sunil Tanna. Sunil wrote a really neat piece of software called EBookCompiler, which I and many others have used to create 'eBooks'. What this softwaredoes is to turn web pages into an electronic 'book' so it can be distributed easily over the Internet. Is is a nice piece of work, it is very easy to use, and I highly recommend it. Read Sunil's article when you get to it, then click on the link to his web site and download the unregistered version of EBookCompiler for free.

When you have used it for a while, you will find that there are some features of the program that you are just dying to use, but that are disabled in the free unregistered version.

So you click on a button and register the program - for a very reasonable fee, considering how much money you will make out of it - and when you do, Sunil will pay me a percentage of the selling price. That's how "affiliate programs" work, and that is one of the ways that you will be able to make a good income with very little startup money: by letting the bigger players do the hard work for you. What I am doing here is giving you good quality information - FREE OF CHARGE - and referring you on to other sources of information and software that will make your business fly. Now I don't think you will mind if a few bucks end up in my pocket as a result of your success, will you - particularly as this information cost you nothing?

The point is, making money on the Internet is a numbers game.

If I tried to sell this EReport - assuming I priced it correctly, set up a web site with credit card facilities, advertised it effectively and managed to attract enough traffic - I might reasonably expect to sell a few hundred or maybe a few thousand copies over a year or so.

Not bad, but probably only enough to cover my advertising costs and bare expenses.

But by GIVING IT AWAY to anyone who is interested, I will probably distribute tens of thousands of copies worldwide in a few months. As I write, there are about 3 billion people connected to the Internet. That will double within a year or two. Everybody likes something for free! Other webmasters use it as a freebie to attract visitors to their site (you can do this too) - I will show you how. Friends email it to each other. It gets around like pollen on a summer's day, aided by a huge swarm of electric bees carrying it from person to person across the globe.

Now the money I would have to spend on advertising to get that kind of distribution doesn't bear thinking about. Are you beginning to see what I am getting at? BY GIVING AWAY MY PRODUCT, I HAVE AN AUDIENCE OF MILLIONS right across the globe. And some of them - probably quite a lot of them - will take a look at one or more of the products I recommend and spend some money, and at that point I make my profit. It may not average out to more than a few pennies per reader, but what do I care - multiply anything by a couple of million and you're in the money!
